Vanderbilt’s Dyer Observatory – ready for the eclipse!

dyer-obseratoryStudents and teachers regularly visit Vanderbilt’s Dyer Observatory in Brentwood, Tennessee, located just out Nashville, to learn about astronomy and space science. The Observatory staff is gearing up for the total solar eclipse to pass right overhead on August 21, 2017, and they have developed a web site page that offers some great information. Learn about how eclipses happen and how to watch them safely here.

By the way, the last total solar eclipse visible in what is now Nashville was on July 29, 1478. They just don’t come around too often!
